應用距離獨立競爭指數推估臺灣杉單木胸高斷面積生長效果之評估

EVALUATION OF DISTANCE-INDEPENDENT COMPETITION INDICES IN ESTIMATING BASAL AREA INCREMENT OF TAIWANIA (TAIWANIA CRYPTOMERIOIDES HAYATA) TREES

摘要


本研究旨在探討競爭作用對臺灣杉單木生長之影響,研究對象為臺灣中部地區中興大學所轄惠蓀林場第3林班內之臺灣杉人工林,本研究採用競爭指數量化競爭作用,並以6種距離獨立競爭指數(DI_1至DI_6)進行分析,其中DI_1及DI_2指數分別搭配6種不同選取競爭木的方式(F_1至F_3及O_1至O_3),總共產生16種組合。本研究採用Pearson相關分析探討競爭指數與胸高斷面積期間生長量(Basal area increment, BAI)的關係,並以DI_1指數搭配O_1的選木方式(DI_1-O_1)為例,以DI_1-O_1為自變數,BAI為因變數,建立如下回歸模式:BAI=-82.66+0.1754×DI_1-O_1(r=0.6207)。當同時採用2017年所調查之胸高斷面積(BA_(2017))及DI_3競爭指數為自變數時,對比於未加入競爭指數的回歸模式,加入競爭指數可提升約10%的解釋能力(R_(adj.)^2自0.342增加為0.441),亦即加入競爭指數可提升模式對於BAI的解釋能力。

The purpose of this study was to examine competition affecting basal area increment (BAI) for Taiwania (Taiwania cryptomerioides Hayata) trees. This study was conducted in the Taiwania plantation, located at the 3rd compartment of Huisun Forest Station, National Chung Hsing University. A total of 6 distance-independent competition indices (DI_1 to DI_6) were used to quantify competition in the study. Moreover, DI_1 and DI_2 had 6 various approaches (F_1 to F_3 and O_1 to O_3) to select competitors. Consequently, a total of 16 combinations of evaluation methods were implemented. Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between the competition indices and BAI. We used the DI_1 index with O_1 approach (DI_1-O_1) as an illustration to predict BAI that can be expressed as BAI=-82.66+0.1754×DI_1-O_1 (r=0.6207). Moreover, we used the basal area measured in 2017 (BA_(2017)) and competition indices as independent variables to predict BAI. The results showed that adding the competition index 3 (DI_3) as variable increased explanatory power by approximately 10% for the regression model compared to that without the competition index (R_(adj.)^2 from 0.342 to 0.441). The results implicated that competition indices could promote explanatory power in predicting BAI.
