台灣鴕鳥產銷與技術效率之研究

The Study on the Production, Marketing and Technical Efficiency of the Ostrich Industry in Taiwan

摘要


台灣鴕鳥產業屬於「超微型產業」,為促進該產業的發展,有必要掌握相關產銷資訊。2002~2008年間的鴕鳥飼養隻數與戶數有明顯變動,呈現大幅縮減。鴕鳥飼養以一貫場為主,但通路的拓展有限,該產業的發展面臨嚴峻的挑戰。飼養技術效率的估計值為0.648,未充分發揮飼養技術之無效率為35.2%,其主要來源為純粹技術無效率,其次為規模無效率。基此,將來台灣鴕鳥產業宜建立飼養管理模式,加強肉品安全衛生及冷藏流通管理,調查鴕鳥肉品的消費市場,並開展行銷通路。

Taiwan's ostrich industry is very small. In order to improve the development of the industry, it is necessary to understand production and marketing. A massive decline in the number of ostrich-raising farms occurred during 2002~2008. The main pattern of ostrich-raising is the vertical integration raising. With limited expansion in marketing, the development of the industry is facing a rigorous challenge. The estimator of raising technical efficiency is 0.648. The inefficiency caused by inadequately-used resources is 35.2%. This is mainly due to pure technical inefficiency and inefficiency of scale is another reason. Consequently, Taiwan's ostrich industry should build up the raising management model, reinforce the safety of meat and the management of refrigeration, investigate the consumption market for ostrich meat and expand marketing channels.
