Current policy related to the rewarding transfer of innovation technology has not received full support from most researchers. Therefore, the objectives of this study are, on the one hand, to survey the attitudes of researchers in agriculture research institutes in Taiwan regarding the rewarding transfer of innovation technology and on the other hand, to determine factors affecting willingness to participate in the policy. In this study, both in-depth interviews and a questionnaire survey were carried out, involving 612 crop related researchers from various agricultural implementation stations in Taiwan. Among the 300 questionnaires sent out, 237 were returned with valid data. A return rate of 79% was attained. The study revealed that perceptions of technology transfer mechanisms, obstacle encountered in technology development, incentive and policies were the main factors affecting agricultural researchers' willingness to engage in rewarding transfers of technology. It was also confirmed that researchers with different attributes displayed different attitudes toward policies related to the rewarding transfer of technology.
