六種楨楠屬植物種子之不耐旱特性

Desiccation Intolerance in Seeds of Six Species of Machilus

摘要


楨楠屬之六個樹種:霧社楨楠、香楠、紅楠、大葉楠、日本楨楠與菲律賓樟之種子用於乾藏與濕藏實驗以研究種子儲藏特性。一艘而言在同一儲藏溫度下,種子含水率愈低,種子之壽命愈短。在同一儲藏相對濕度下,種子儲於4℃要比儲於15℃或25℃之壽命為長。因此以六龜之菲律賓樟為例,在15℃下儲於93%、75%與40%RH之種子喪失原先50%發芽率所須時間分別為35,18與11天左右;而在4℃下儲於93%、75%與40%RH之種子喪失原先50%發芽率所須時間分別為70、32與21天。除菲律賓樟種子外,濕藏方式是延長所有種類種子壽命最有效的方式。我們也探討了臨界含水率之觀念,並認為保持成熟種子之含水率甚至更高之含水率是保存異儲型種子活力最安全的做法。

The seeds of the six species of Machilus: mushaensis, zuihoensis, thunbergii, kusanoi, japonica and philippinensis, were used for the study of seed storage behaviour. In general, seeds have shorter lifespan when they were desiccated to lower moisture content al the same storage temperature; seeds have longer lifespan when stared al 4℃ than that at l5℃ or 25℃ at she same relative humidity of storage. Using M. philippinensis from Liu-Kuei as an example, the time needed for the seeds stored at 93%, 75% and 40% RH to decrease to half of the original germination percentage was 35, 18 and 11 days, respectively, at the storage temperature 15℃; the time needed to decrease to half of she original germination was >70, 32 and 21 days, respectively, at the storage temperature 4℃. Wet storage (stratification) is an effective way to extend the lifespan of seeds with the exception M. Philippinensis. The concept of critical moisture content is discussed and the safest moisture content for keeping the viability of recalcitrant seeds is that of mature seeds or even higher in moisture content.
