摘要

本文介紹以內容特徵為基礎的影像檢索相關技術以及應用這些技術所完成的影像資訊檢索系統。由於網路上流通的影像愈來愈多，認識提供影像檢索的網路系統以及透過相關技術的分析了解系統的特色，對於有這方面需求的使用者相當重要。本文依照檢索系統的資料庫管理子系統、內容特徵抽取子系統、輸入介面、內容特徵比對子系統和輸出介面等各個重要功能簡介了各種相關基礎技術。另外也向對這個主題有興趣的讀者推薦xcavator.net、retrievr和Piximilar等三個網路上的影像檢索系統以及應用這項技術的Like.com線上購物系統。

This paper give a brief survey of the technologies for image retrieval based on features of the image content and also several online systems providing online image retrieval service implemented with these technologies. Because there are the larger amount of image distributed on the Internet than before, it is very important to know some online systems that provide this kind of service and to understand characteristics of the systems through analyses of related technologies for the users who have need of acquiring image information from the Internet. In this paper, we discussed various related technologies according to the improtant functional components usually constituted an image retrieval system, which include database management subsystem, feature extraction subsystem, input interface, feature matching subsystem, and output interface. We also recommend three different online image retrieval systems, xcavator.net, retrievr, and Piximilar, and a online shopping system based on the technologies, Like.com, for those readers who are interested to this subject matter.
