Computer and Internet Training Strategies for the Elderly: A Public Library Perspective

摘要

公共圖書館的老年服務隨著臺灣高齡人口的遞增，越來越重要。在社會高齡化的趨勢發展下，另一進行已久的社會變遷是資訊科技在社會各個層面的影響。本文所關心的老年服務是公共圖書館如何有效協助年長者適應及融入以網際網路與電腦科技為導向的資訊社會，使電腦與網路的使用對老年生活產生正面的影響。資訊素養教育是選擇之一，但是，如何針對老年人的特性規劃與執行訓練方案以達到社會教育的目的是本文探討的重心。

Along the trend of rapid increase of ageing population in the digital age, digital divide that is caused by age factor is of much concern in the public service sectors. How does a public library help the older adults adapt to the information society and benefit from the computer use and Internet access? And what can be done? The purpose of this paper is to present the effective ways of computer and Internet training for the older adults or the elderly, based on the knowledge about and the issues associated with the aging processes.
