圖書館選擇圖書經常有兩種取向，其一是圖書品質取向，其一是讀者需求取向。暢銷書是書店高銷售量的圖書，出版業或媒體一劇熱門銷售數據編製暢銷書排行榜，常為民眾買書的參考。暢銷書是否可以反映當代社會大眾的閱讀喜好？暢銷書排行榜是否能成為圖書館選書作業的參考？本文主要探討暢銷書與圖書館館藏發展之關係，姜討論暢銷書與排行榜、暢銷書與圖書館選書、以及暢銷書與館藏發展政策等議題
