痢疾原蟲之醣解作用
Glycolysis in Entamoeba histolytica
摘要
痢疾原蟲能引起阿米巴性痢疾、阿米巴性肝炎及肝膿瘍，臨床方面有著相當的重要性。生物化學的研究顯示，痢疾原蟲具有十分不尋常的生化性特性。特別是醣解作用中，一些重要的酶及參與反應的基質與一般生物比較，有顯著的不同。本文的目的即在於簡單介紹這些差異，並且認識這些差異之實用意義。

Entamoeba histolytic is a causative agent of human amebic dysentery, amebic hepatitis and amebic liver abscess which are clinically important parasitic diseases. Biochemical studies revealed that E. histolytic possesses many unusual features. The most significant one is that this organism differs from others in carbohydrate metabolism. There are several glycolytic enzymes, substrates, and cofactors and cofactors are distinct as compared with most investigated organisms. The purpose of this review is to brief these differences in order to recognize their significance from an applicatory standpoint.
