Glomus tumors can occur throughout the body. Its most common occurring site is on the upper extermities, especially the subungal area of the hand. Five female patients with glomus tumor of the digits were found in the recent 5 years. Their mean age is 31 years old, and the mean duration iof symptoms is 7 years. Out of these 5 patients, three had previous unsuccessful surgery and two had indentation of distal phalanx which were shown on the X-rays. All patients were treated under local digital block anesthesia, and complete removal of the lesion was achieved with the use of the digital tourniquet and magnifying loupes. All patients had complete relief of pain after operations. Period of follow-up ranged from 10 months to 5 years. None had recurrence of symptoms. Partial extirpation of the nail was performed on 3 patients who had the tumor located subungally, and the result of nail replacemennt was satisfactory.
