The high incidence of serious infections is one of the most disturbing problems in the management of patient with SLE. In spite of an increasing incidence of infection, an association between tuberculosis and SLE has been noted infrequently. SLE-associated tuberculosis aws previously reported which gives rise to a prevalence rate of 5%. However SLE-related tuberculous meningitis was rarely reported in the past. We reported a case with SLE-related tuberculous meningitis complicated with hydrocephalous and cerebral infarction. It is very difficult to deal with such a complicated case. The survival rate is strongly related to early diagnosis and early treatment Although patients with a clinical course compatible with tuberculous meningitis lacking in histological or laboratory confirmation, a judicious trial of antimycobacterial drug therapy is probably indicated.
