Efficacy of Cefixime in Urinary Tract Infection

摘要

在總共46個診斷為泌尿道感染的病人，給予cefixime口服抗生素一天一次，400 mg的劑量治療5－7天，以評估cefixime治療泌尿道感染的療效。在20個非複雜性的泌尿道感染者，其臨床及細菌學上的反應率皆為100%，然而，在複雜性的泌尿道感染患者，其臨床及細菌學上的反應率則分別為73.1%及79.3%。這些結果，顯示出cefixime對泌尿道感染的患者。有相當好的療效，尤其是對於非複雜性泌尿道感染的患者。藥物的不良反應則為少見且輕微的。因此cefixime在治療泌尿道感染的病人，是一個耐受性良好且很有效的口服抗生素。

A total of 46 patients with a diagnosis of UTI were treated orally with cefixime 400 mg once daily for 5-7 consecutive days. In 20 cases of uncomplicated UTI, both clinical and bacteriological response rates were 100%, while the rates in 26 cases of complicated UTI were 73.1% and 79.3% respectively. These were considered to be excellent results, especially in uncomplicated cases. Adverse reactions of the drug were rare and mild. Cefixime is well tolerated and very effective in the treatment of acute urinary tract infections.
