Obstruction of an Armoured Endotracheal Tube: Report of Two Cases
使用Armoured氣管內管造成氣道阻塞：二病例報告
摘要
Armoured氣管內管通常使用於神經外科或頭頸部手術以確保氣道通暢。在加護中心中使用armoured氣管內管之主要併發症是由於病患咬管所造成的氣道阻塞。我們報告兩病例使用armoured氣管內管，因病患咬管而造成的氣道阻塞。由此病例報告我們學習到，在加護中心要保護armoured氣管內管不被意外咬損，必須適切使用鎮靜劑及穩固的防咬管機制。在加護中心若要長期使用人工氣道，最好將armoured氣管內管以經鼻或口腔傳統聚氯乙烯氣管內管甚至氣切造口來取代。

Armoured endotracheal tube is commonly used during neurosurgical procedures for airway secure. In intensive care unit, the major complications reported with the use of armoured endotracheal tube are related to patient's biting on the tube. In the present cases, we described the armoured endotracheal tube was obstructed by patient biting of the tube. From this report, we learned that adequate sedation and oral airway securer are necessary to protect the armoured endotracheal tube. Moreover, a nasal or oral polyvinylchloride endotracheal tube or tracheostomy may be a better substitution for long-term artificial airway use.
