摘要

The hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in postmenopausal women have many benefit, but the study of HRT in Taiwan is limited. The purpose of this study was to describe the status of HRT in the Jin-San Hsiang. Our study collected total of 100 women who was older than 40 in the clinic of health station of J in-San Hsiang. It was noted that 52 of the 100 cases (52%) had heard of HRT and the 35 cases had made use of HRT. Among the 35 cases who had made use of HRT, only 8 of them (22.9%) stopped HRT. Besides, we chose Pap smear and breast cancer screening as indicators of the personal behavior and the relationship between HRT and the personal health attitude in the study. The analysis showed that 61 of the 100 cases (61%) had received Pap smear every year, and the 19 cases had received breast cancer screening every year. We conclude that women who knew or made use of HRT have much more health related behaviors than those who don't. The physician plays an important role for the long-term use of HRT in postmenopausal women.
