Rhabdomyolysis is a rare complication following successful reperfusion of occluded peripheral arteries. Acute renal failure frequently develops in these patients, and it carries a high mortality rate. We report a 78-year-old female with near-total occlusion of bilateral femoral arteries. After successful femoral-popliteal artery bypass, she developed rhabdomyolysis with acute renal failure. Despite intensive support and treatment, she died ofmultiple-organ failure.
