Arthroscopy was used to assist reduction of intra-articular fractures of distal radius and assess the soft tissue injuries in 23 acute cases. The fractures were treated by reduction under arthroscopic control and percutaneous fixation either with or without external fixation. The triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) was torn in 11 of 23 (47%) patients. They all were peripheral tears and received repair under arthroscope. Scapholunate (SL) ligament injuries with instability were present in 5 (21%) patients. Lunotriquetral (LT) ligament injuries were present in 3 (11%) patients. Chondral fractures present in 4 (16%) patients. All fractures healed without measurable measurable incongruity of joint surface and aft follow-up 12 to 25 months after surgery 11 patients had excellent and 12 patients had good results according to the Mayo modified wrist score.
