Recurrent Hemarthrosis of Knee Joint Due to Arteriovenous Malformation: A Case Report

動靜脈血管瘤造成膝關節反覆血腫:一病例報告

並列摘要

A rare case of an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) presenting with recurrence hemarthrosis of the knee mimicking a pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) is reported. A 22-year-old man complained of motion pain and swelling of his right knee for two years. He received conservative management before he was referred to our institution. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was arranged for him and PVNS was highly suspected. We found one vascular tumor different from PVNS of the right knee during operation. The histological examination revealed the morphological features consistent with an arteriovenous malformation. The operation resulted in complete relief of symptoms and the patient returned to his previous job at 3 weeks after the operation. The latest 5-year follow-up, MRI showed no recurrence of AVM in his right knee.
