The purpose of this study was to explore the influences of the situational variables on choosing recreational areas. By reviewing the literature, this research examined the influence from categories of situational variables and personal characteristics. After the survey, the data were collected and analyzed by descriptive statistics and ANOVA. The results revealed that the situational variables do affect the choice behavior, and tourists' choice behavior is influenced by informational environment, consumption environment and temporality. The personal characteristics that affected the choice behavior were ”age”, ”job function”, and ”travel frequency”.
