Necrotizing Fasciitis after Arteriovenous Graft Creation

並列摘要

Necrotizing fasciitis is a very serious and life-threatening infection of the soft tissues. It is associated with a high mortality rate and is characterized by a rapid but subtle onset of spreading in-flammation and necrosis starting from its fascia, muscles and subcutaneous fat with subsequent necrosis of the overlying skin. There are reports of acute kidney injury in patients with necrotizing fasciitis but it is rarely documented in chronic renal failure patients. We hereby report a very rare case of necrotizing fasciitis following newly created right forearm arteriovenous graft in a hemodialysis patient.
