六朝形神生滅論爭中的玄思綜論

A Comprehensive Investigation on Metaphysical Thoughts in the Views about Body and Spirit in the Six Dynasties

摘要


本文嘗試以「玄論」的視角,思考玄學與清談文化對六朝形神生滅問題所發揮的影響,進而尋繹個中思維相承的脈絡意義,以此增益對相關問題的理解層次。從背景研究的角度來看,「形神生滅」議題,在佛教未盛之前,較早的發端,可以溯源自「無鬼論」、「夢論」等,因個中所反映的形神理解,多成為後世「形神生滅論」談論之所資。而玄學中的「本末有無論」、「自然觀」、「體/用」觀念等,則又成為最常被應用的論述思維模式。職是,適如清談在南朝的發展,有著多元統綜的形式,「形神生滅論」作為當時流行的論爭,也不妨可視為是一種「複合式」的談題,它毋寧是前代諸名題相因下與佛教概念交涉、融通發展的結果。

With the perspective of metaphysical discourses, this study investigates the influence mysterious learning and pure conversation exert on the issue of body and spirit's appearance and disappearance in the Six Dynasties, and deepens understanding of related issues by exploring the contextual meaning of the successive ideas. The issue of body and spirit's appearance and disappearance can be traced back to the no-ghost theory and the dream theory, whose body and spirit concepts are significant references for later discussions. For analyzing and thinking, the concepts of "root and branch, existence and nonexistence," "views about nature," "body and function" in mysterious learning are often the most frequently applied pattern. Therefore, just as pure conversation has diverse forms of development in the Southern Dynasties, the issue of body and spirit's appearance and disappearance is also a composite thesis. It is the result of its former topics' mutual integration and interaction with Buddhist concepts.
