Biodiversity of the Genus Cordyceps and its Anamorphs

摘要


Biodiversity of the genus Cordyceps not only shows a great diversity of species but also the anamorphs relate to about 30 genus of imperfect fungi. Some characteristics among monoconidia of a Cordyceps anamorph are obvious different, mentioned above features are submerged hyphae morphology, conidiogenous structure, sectoring feature, potential of fruit formation and survival time in normal temperature. Microcycle conidiation has an unique biological importance in the genus Cordyceps besides sexual, asexual multiplication and parasexuality, perhaps it is a necessary stage to infect a host insect. Metabolic types of the genus Cordyceps and its anamorphs are very complex, they can produce a lot of biologically active compounds with distinctive functions. Diversity of metabolites in these fungi will offer important resources for human to exploit new insectcides, healthy foods, medicines and other fine chemicals.
