First record of Cercospora mikaniicola on the weedy vine Mikania micrantha (Asteraceae) in Taiwan

Mikania micrantha, originating from tropical South and Central America, has become a noxious invasive weed in Taiwan. Cercospora mikaniicola (anamorphic Mycosphaerellaceae, Capnodiales), hitherto known from Mikania species in several countries, is recorded for Taiwan for the first time. The spread and potential of this fungus for effective control of M. micrantha are discussed.
