This report is to compare and analyse the results of antibody identification from blood donation and transfusion services in Kaohsiung. The positive rates of antibody screening are 0.17% and 4.1% in the blood donation center and hospital transfusion services, respectively, The most frequently identified antibody is anti-Mia with a incidence of 31% both in blood donation center and hospital transfusion services. The rest are anti-E of 16% and Anti-M of 4% .The rate of the positively identified antibodies becoming negative is about 9.3% according to the experience from Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital. The benefits from consulting the patient’s previous laboratory records will reduce the workload of antibody identification and enhance the patient safety.
