An Overview on the Linkage between Risk Factors and Breast Cancer Development
有關於乳腺癌發生的危險因素之間的關係論述
摘要
Breast cancer is an increasing public health problem. Breast cancer is a heterogeneous and polygenic disease that can be divided into different molecular subtypes based on histological and genomic features. The influence of risk factors on the development and progression of breast cancer has been a long-standing hypothesis. Among the various factors which lead to the development of breast cancer, stress, age and genetic inheritance (family background) have always been the focal point of long and interminable discussions. Yet, studies have still not shown evidence to prove that there is a direct correlation between stressful life events and increased risk of breast cancer. This article provides an overview of the relationship between these risk factors and breast cancer development.
