本研究旨在建立3(1/2)歲至12歲兒童之握力和兩手在1分鐘內可穿多少粒木珠子之常模,以便提供與心智發展遲緩或手部有問題之工作者有個參考依據。受測人數為3438人,男女分17個年齡組。握力和穿珠粒數隨年長而境加,男生握力不盡都比同齡女生的大,穿珠速度也不全是女生比男生快。此研究受測人數頗多且施測方法客觀,所以可信度較高。
The objective of this study was to establish the normative data concerning grasp strength and the number of beads strung in one minute for clinicians treating children with psycho-motor retardation and hand problems. Total of 3438 children aged from 3(1/2) to 12 were tested by using the Martin Vigorimeter and wooden beads in the size of 1.5 cm diameter. Subjects were divided into 17 age-groups, Means and standard deviations for all groups were determined. Results of this study indicate that there is a steady increase in grasp strength and the number of beads strung coincides with the increase of chronological age and development; males are not consistently stronger than females and females do not consistently string beads faster than males. Left hand dominance was not considered in this study.
