An Analysis of Concerning Fatigue Induced by Isokinetic Eccentric Contraction

摘要

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of maximal voluntary isokinetic eccentric contraction on torque outputs of quadriceps muscle. To elicit the pattern of muscular fatigue following an isokinetic eccentric contraction, 12 physically active males were recruited for this investigation. Using a Lido isokinetic dynamometer, each subject completed a test included eccentric contraction at speed of 120°/sec for 40 repetitions. While every 5 contractions were performed, a bout was completed and peak torque output was determined. Results showed that peak torque outputs of dominant leg at bout 7 were significantly different from bout 1 to bout 5. A non-significant difference was found for non-dominant leg. A high correlation coefficient was found between average peak torque and peak torque output. The peak torque outputs of dominant and non-dominant leg did not reach significant level from bout I to bout 7. The peak torque of bout 8 was higher in non-dominant leg than the dominant leg; In this study, the use of isokinetic eccentric protocal to measure external strength performance was not precise enough while evaluating muscular fatigue. Therefore, future investigation is warrant.
