Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is an uncommon chronic disease of the gastrointestinal tract that is characterized by abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea. Eosinophilic infiltration of the gut wall is pathognomonic of the disease. Helicobacter Pylon (H. pylori) is associated with a wide spectrum of gastroduodenal diseases. Strong evidence has shown that H. pylori is implicated in the development of gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, MALT lymphoma and gastric cancer The case reported is a 56-year-old female presenting with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, epigastric discomfort and weight loss. The clinical picture was characterized by peripheral eosinophilia. Upper gastrointestinal (UGI) panendoscopy revealed H. pylori infection and eosinophilic infiltration of the mucosal layer of the stomach wall. A diagnosis of eosinophilic gastroenteritis as well as H. pylori gastritis was made. The patient experienced an impressive response to eradication of H pylon and steroid therapy.
