We presented a 74-year-old man with a solitary Peutz-Jeghers type polyp of stomach with the presentation of postprandial fullness and intermittent tarry stool for one month. Extended investigation did not reveal intestinal polyposis or any other sign of Peutz-Jeghers syndrome. Because of frequent bleeding from this polyp, endoscopic mucosal resection was performed. The patient had an uneventful postoperative course. Histological evaluation disclosed bundles of prominent muscular fibers frequently growing into the polyp from the muscularis mucosae, and a harmatomatous polyp was diagnosed. A solitary Peutz-Jeghers type polyp of stomach occurring in the absence of established Peutz-Jeghers syndrome is uncommon; we, therefore, present this rare case.
