莊子對語言之意見的現代考察

摘要

在先秦諸子中，莊子是少數曾對語言提出重要意見的人。他認為語言並不能表達道，這即是他所說的語言的未定。由於語言的未定而造成是非無窮的爭辯，而是非的爭辯是造成人不能齊物的主因。然而要消泯是非卻非得從充分了解是非的起因下手不可。本文運用了語言哲學與集合論的理論重新考察了這個重要觀點，以期更深入的了解莊子思想。

Zhuang Zi was one of the few pre-qin scholars who made important statements about language. He didn’t think language could present Dao, and that was what he meant by the uncertainty of language. The uncertainty of language resulted in infinite argument while the argument about right and wrong was the main cause why men and things are not equal. Yet to eliminate disputes, we have to deal with the causes of disputes. In this paper, we employ the philosophy of language and the set theory to re-consider this important view, in wishes to understand more about the doctrines of Zhuang Zi.
