摘要

「關懷之情感」是人的道德基礎。臨終關懷之精髓乃在醫護人員與病患間的「互動關係」與「關懷關係」，其焦點在強調「關係」；而臨終關懷的目的在使病患達到身、心、靈的整合。護理人員是涉入最深、亦最能觸及病患內心深處的臨終照護專業人員，絕非其他專業人員所能取代；是在病患生命長度有限時，亦最能協助病患豐富及拓展其生命寬度的療護人員。本文即依據筆者之質性研究，「臨終病患對療護的期望」，發現臨終病患多期望受到親人及醫護人員的關懷，從而論述臨終關懷倫理與其護理實踐之道。

The foundation of human's morality is the affections toward caring. The essence of terminal care is the ”interaction relations” and ”caring relations” between patients and the health care professionals, in which the ”relation” is the focus. The purpose of the terminal care is to integrate ones' body, mind and spirit, while nurses involve and touch patients' inner-self the most, and can hardly to replace, among the health care professionals. The role of nursing could be plentiful the life of the terminally ills during their limited length of life. Based on the author's study ”Care Expectations of The Hospitalized Terminally Ill Cancer Patients”, most of the terminally ill cancer patients expected to be cared from their families as well as the health care professionals. Issues of ethic of care and its practice of nursing were discussed thereby.
