“以問題為基礎的學習”(PBL)教學法在“哲學概論”課程的應用

The Application of the Pedagogy of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in the Course of "Introduction to Philosophy"

摘要


本文主要包含兩個主要部份,第一部分是在理論上詮釋何謂PBL教學法(以問題為基礎的學習)。在這個部份,筆者經由文獻的搜集與經驗交流,說明當今PBL教學法的來歷,應用情形,以及本教學法與原始哲學精神的相關性,進而指出哲學教育實施PBL教學的可能性。第二部分則是在實踐上說明,筆者自2006年開始運用PBL教學法於哲學系的「哲學概論」課程的教學計畫。在這個部分,筆者說明課程規劃,教室內與教室外的實體授課情形,以及利用非同步網路輔助教學等方式,說明課程的實施狀況。並舉例說明本課程一個單元中所出現的「問題」案例。最後,PBL教學法在哲學系的專業課程中具體實施的可行性,已經獲得實證的結果,至少PBL教學法將扮演哲學教育當中一項積極而有效率的學習方法。

This paper is basically composed of two parts, and the first one is to explain what PBL (problem-based learning) is in theory, wherein the writer is to employ his related documents and experience to demonstrate the evolution of this pedagogy, how it is applied, how this pedagogy is related to the original spirit of philosophy, and, moreover, point to the possibility of implement PBL in the education of philosophy. The second part is to demonstrate the writer's teaching project-which has been in use ever since 2006-of applying PBL in the course of ”Introduction to Philosophy.” The writer will explain here the course plan, the teaching activities within and without the classroom, as well as illustrate the teaching of the course by means of non-synchronized on-line learning. We also present a ”problem” in one of the units of the course. Finally, since the practicality of PBL in the professional courses of the department of philosophy has been confirmed, the pedagogy of PBL should be considered a positive and efficient way of learning in the education of philosophy.
