The experience of sacred space includes two dimensions of significance, beliefs and aesthetics. The aesthetic objects of sacred space can be classified as two types, religious and humanist. Its aesthetic activities mainly focus on two aspects, one is all sorts of hierophany which are endowed with supernatural power by beliefs; the other is the activities of belief that happened in sacred space, such as holy narrative, symbols and rituals. Awe is an important spiritual precondition for the aesthetic perception of sacred space. Essentially, the aesthetic perception of sacred space is a specially spiritual sensation, which achieves the spiritual transcendence and purification through mysterious viewing and meditation or ritual participation, and finally help people to have a glance at the sublime and eternal world of spiritual aesthetics.
