The methanol extract of the dried stems of Dendrobium sonia was found to contain six stilbenoids denbinobin (1), 3-methylgigantol (2), 3',4-dihydroxy-5,5'dimethoxybibenzyl (3), nudol (2,7-dihydroxy-3,4-dimethoxyphenanthrene) (4), lusianthridin (5), and confusarin (2,7-dihydroxy-3,4,8-trimethoxyphenanthrene) (6). The structures of these compounds were identified by comparison of their spectral data (ElMS and NMR) with published reports. Compounds 1 and 2 were also established by direct comparison (co- TLC) with the authentic samples.
