Tribological and Corrosion Properties of Electroless Ni-P/PTFE Composite Coatings

摘要


透過化學鍍在中碳鋼基材沉積不同PTFE含量(體積含量從0~27.6 vol.%)之Ni-P/PTFE複合鍍層。本實驗採用球磨機磨耗試驗機研究複合鍍層在無潤滑條件下的摩擦磨損行為,並在室溫下以3.5 wt.% NaCl水溶液中進行極化曲線評價探討腐蝕行為。實驗結果顯示,由於PTFE的自潤滑和獨特高疏水性結構,複合鍍層的摩擦係數(COF)隨著PTFE含量增加而降低。然而,PTFE含量在14.4 vol.%以前時,隨著PTFE的增加,複合鍍層的磨損率呈現逐漸減少趨勢。綜合結論,PTFE體積含量為14.4 vol.%時具有最佳磨潤特性,同時仍保有極佳耐腐蝕性。

Nickel-phosphorus Teflon (Ni-P/PTFE) composite coatings with different volume fraction (from 0 to 27.6 vol.%) of PTFE were deposited on medium carbon steel substrates by electroless plating. The friction and wear behavior of the composite coatings were investigated using a ball-on-disk wear tester under unlubricated condition, and the corrosion behavior were evaluated through polarization curves in 3.5 wt.% NaCl aqueous solution at the room temperature. The experimental results indicated that the friction coefficient of the composite coatings decreased with increasing the volume fraction of PTFE due to self-lubrication and unique topological structure of PTFE. However, when the volume fraction of PTFE is before 14.4 vol.%, the wear rate of the composite coatings showed a steadily decreasing trend with increasing volume fraction of PTFE. Comprehensive conclusion, the PTFE volume fraction of 14.4 vol.% has the best tribological properties and still maintains excellent corrosion resistance.
