Gonococcal ophthalmia neonatorum (GON) is a potentially devastating infection that may result in visual impairment. It was a common cause of blindness during the end of the nineteenth century. After improvement of the public health and introduction of topical antibiotics, the incidence of GON was decreased. The rapidity of progression and potential severity necessitate prompt diagnosis and treatment. We present a case of GON and relevant literatures were reviewed.
