We report on a pregnant woman with Ramsay Hunt syndrome whose facial palsy recovered after delivery. A 37-year-old woman had vertigo, as well as facial palsy, otalgia, and auricular eruption on the right side at 26 weeks gestation. Grade V facial palsy, absent caloric response, and absent vestibular evoked myogenic potential (VEMP) response were noted on the right side. Oral acyclovir (400 mg, five times daily) was administered consecutively for 5 days. She delivered a healthy baby 3 months later. Her facial palsy recovered and canal palsy returned to normal. In conclusion, Ramsay Hunt syndrome in pregnant women can be treated with oral acyclovir, resulting in a fair outcome of facial palsy in the mother, and no congenital anomalies in the child.
