A 46-year-old female received a total hysterectomy which was complicated by urinary bladder injury and which was repaired intraoperatively. Urine leakage due to a vesicovaginal fistula developed on postoperative 8th day. Early postoperative intravesical endoscopic repair of the vesicovaginal fistula by a laparoscopic technique was performed. This approach avoided an operation in the surgical field at an early postoperative stage, particularly on the perivesical tissue with infection and inflammation. The fistula healed successfully, and no recurrence was found at the 8-month follow-up. We describe this novel technique and discuss its advantages, problems, and future potential applications.
