Human Testicular Lactate Dehydrogenase-C Gene: cDNA Sequence and Putative Alternative Splicing at the 5' noncoding region

並列摘要

A Cdna encoding the human testicular lactate dehydrogenase-C isozyme was cloned and its nucleotide sequence determined. The sequence of this Cdna was compared with one reported previously. An insert of 53 nucleotides in the 5’ noncoding region and three nucleotide changes resulting in two amino acid substitutions were found. In addition, a human genomic clone (Hc210) containing the 5’ noncoding region and the first two protein-coding exons was partially sequenced. A comparison of the two Cdna sequences with the genomic sequence revealed that different lengths of 5’ noncoding exon present in the two Cdna sequences may result from putative alternative splicing in the 5’ noncoding region during the expression of the human LDH-C gene.
