TRIZ is a systematical and creative method to solve technical and engineering problems effectively. In order to stimulate student's potential for technological creativity, TRIZ could be regarded as a theoretical foundation of learning activities in living-technology curriculum. Based on literature analysis, a learning activity named solar-energy-beast was developed. After a teaching experiment, both feasibility and effectiveness of this learning activity were verified and proved to be high. By using TRIZ method, most students could perform better in mechanical innovation and functional innovation while being engaged in designing a solar-energy-beast. According to results of the teaching experiment, suggestions for design and implementation of instruction were proposed.
