Mesenteric cyst is a rare benign intraabdominal neoplasm which is originated from mesentery. Three cases were collected in our hospital from 1985 to 1989 to correlate the ultrasound and CT findings with clinical and pathological diagnosis. Ultrascopically the mesenteric cysts are typically smooth-walled, hypoechoic or echo-free, round mass with increased sound reflection on the posterior wall, but on CT, they are cystic masses of low attenuation usually displacing the bowel loops. Mesenteric cysts may be multi-locular in appearance, but usually single in number. Since the diagnosis may be accurately made by CT and ultrasound before operation, other invasive diagnostic procedures can be therefore obviated.
