This paper attempts to explore the development and location of Taiwan's textile and clothing industries in the era of globalization. The development of textile and clothing industries reflects the multifaceted issues of Taiwan's economic development in the face of neoliberaling globalization. On the one hand, textile and clothing indsutries are the pioneer for Taiwan's industrialization, and the profit making for Taiwan's foreign exchanges. On the other hand, they are the initiate industries that stepping into globalizing world, and accentuating global shift of industrial locations. The paper argues that textile industry is not so-called a 'sunset industry' in Taiwan, but, on the contrary, a re-definied new indsutry due to the emerging characteristics of quaternary industry. Also, there is the rise of quaternary industry geography of the textiles to make information society possible in Taiwan.
