摘要

虛擬私有網路在公用的或不可信任的網路基礎結構上，提供機密性、完整性等的安全保護，與建置成本昂貴的專線相比，是相當經濟的另一種選擇；虛擬私有網路實作方式極多，主要實作於OSI模型中的資料連結層、網路層或是會議層。本文透過了解各種虛擬私有網路的特性，研究各種實作方法之間的優劣異同，可以依應用環境的不同，選擇適當的虛擬私有網路配置，並介紹近年來逐漸受市場重視的 SSL VPN。SSL Tonnel 是以SSL VPN 的架構為基礎加以改良，將原先只針對 HTTP 協定架構的設計，修改為建立支援一般 TCP 協定的安全通道，除增加了其應用範圍的彈性，若加上模組與晶片卡，提供使用上的彈性與安全性。
