寬頻無線通訊技術發展與展望

無線通訊技術與市場發展至今正加速朝向寬頻化、多樣化的應用前進，從個人行動裝置，如多媒體手機、個人行動助理，乃至於營運廠商與服務提供者的系統通訊設備、資訊內容及應用服務，無不將發展方向鎖定在行動、寬頻、服務品質此三大主軸。工研院資通所長期投入各項無線通訊技術發展計畫，包括下世代寬頻無線系統規劃、關鍵技術與智財之研發、技術標準國際化等方面，積極且有計畫為我國無線通訊產業建立永續發展平台，累積核心技術能量；此外也進一步透過技術移轉及多方合作的方式，協助國內廠商有效提升無線通訊產業技術水準與國際性的競爭力。

Broadband with a wide variety of applications is a major trend in the market and development of wireless communications technology. In terms of functions and features, mobility, broadband, and Quality of Service (QoS) are the focuses of the development of personal mobile devices such as multimedia handsets and PDAs, communications infrastructure of operators and service providers, contents and application services. The Information and Communications Laboratories (ICL) of Industrial Technology Research Institute has been conducting research and development programs on wireless communications technologies for over ten years. The current projects include the planning of next generation broadband wireless systems, development of key technologies and intellectual properties, and participation in drafting international standards. ICL has also been actively engaging in establishing platforms and frameworks for continuing development of local wireless communications industry and in enhancing core technology in wireless communications. Through technology transfer to local industry and collaboration with local and international companies, ICL help local companies enhance wireless communications technology and competitiveness in the global market.
