Performance Evaluation of the Load-Balance-Based Relay Node Selection Strategy in Wireless Network

摘要


中繼技術(Relaying)是最近越來越多研究者感到興趣的熱門領域。當行動電話處於收訊品質較差的地點時,我們利用了附近某些與基地台通訊品質較好的行動電話作為中繼點(Relay Node),直接透過中繼點與基地台(Base Station)進行連結。在用戶密度不會太低的地方,透過其他的行動電話傳輸的中繼技術可以有效的改善傳輸上的SIR、通訊品質與電力耗損。這技術主要適用於短距離以及視線範圍(Line-of-sight)的訊號中繼傳遞。本文中主要研究多重躍進(Multi-hop)的中繼技術,以及中繼點選擇策略(Relay Node Selection Strategy)在系統效能方面的影響,並且提出了一個新的以負載平衡為基礎(Load-Balance-Base)的中繼點選擇策略。模擬器結果顯示根據了不同的中繼點選擇策略系統效能會獲得不同程度的改善,而且以負載平衡為基礎的中繼點選擇策略會提供中繼點更公平的網路資料傳輸負載量。

Recently relaying has emerged as a field which is more and more interesting for researchers. A known strategy is that we employ some mobile stations (MS) having qualities of good communication with the base station (BS) to be selected as relay nodes for those that do not have. Supplied that the subscriber density is not very low, relaying via wireless terminals can have a remarkable impact on SIR, communication quality and transmission power. This is chiefly because of the fact that the signals only have to pass through shorter distances and/or improved line-of-sight links. In this article, we studied multi-hop relaying and the effects of relay node selection strategies on system performance. Furthermore, we propose a novel relay node selection strategy, called Load-Balance Based (LBB) algorithm. Simulation experiments exhibit that the system performance can be improved according to different relay node selection algorithms, and LBB relay node selection strategy is fairer than traditional selection strategies in the data transmission load.
