摘要

近年來，隨著無線網路技術的蓬勃發展，愈來愈多使用者透過無線上網方式來連結Internet，WISP業者欲提供大範圍的無線上網服務，利用支援Mesh功能的AP，讓APs之間透過無線方式來連結，將可降低營運的成本與減少網路佈建的時間。目前各家業者都採用自有技術來實作，因此需要一個標準讓不同廠商的設備可以互通，本篇文章的重點將介紹Wi-Fi Mesh標準－IEEE 802.11s的現況、技術與未來發展。

In recent years, wireless networking technology has become more and more popular. Many people connect to the internet via wireless networks. If WISP wants to provide wireless service in a large area, using wireless to connect between mesh-enabled APs can save money and support fast network deployment. Today, many vendors use proprietary methods to implement Wi-Fi Mesh networking, so we need a standard to meet the requirement of interoperability. The objective of this paper is to introduce the current status and technical evolution of Wi-Fi Mesh standard-IEEE 802.11s.
