摘要


下一代通訊系統將包含網路、終端、以及應用服務等的整合。隨著WiMAX技術的發展與產品的問世,將加速這些各方面的整合,促成數位匯流的實現。國際電信聯盟(ITU, International Telecommunication Union)將於今年召開World Radiocommunications Conference (WRC),規劃第四代行動通訊的頻譜。世界先進國家也積極進行下一代行動接取技術的研發。工研院資通所掌握技術發展趨勢,長期投入各項無線通訊技術發展計畫,包括下世代寬頻無線系統技術研發以及國際標準的制定,累積核心技術能量,為我國無線通訊產業建立永續發展平台。也進一步透過技術移轉及多方合作的方式,協助國內廠商有效提升無線通訊產業技術水準與國際性的競爭力。

Next generation network will include the convergence of networks, devices, and application services, etc. The maturity of WiMAX technology and availability of WiMAX products will speed up the convergence and contribute to the realization of digital convergence. The International Telecommunication Unit (ITU) will hold a World Radiocommunications Conference this year to plan the spectrum for Fourth Generation (4G) mobile communications. The leading nations in the world have been devoted to the research and development of technology that will meet the ITU 4G system requirements. Grasping the trend of technology development, the Information and Communications Laboratories (ICL) of Industrial Technology Research Institute has been conducting research and development programs on wireless communications technologies for a long period of time. The current projects include the development of next generation broadband wireless systems, related of key technologies and participation in drafting international standards. ICL has also been actively engaging in establishing platforms and frameworks for continuing development of local wireless communications industry. ICL helps local companies enhance wireless communications technology and competitiveness in the global market through technology transfer and collaboration with local and international companies.
