摘要


許多有關點對點影像串流技術的研究常常側重於點對點通訊協定之演算法,像是最佳下載節點篩選、節點分布最佳化、群組建構等等。對於提供影像串流服務來說,串流機制與系統配置亦是相當重要的環節,然而,較少研究著重於此。另一方面,分層影像編碼技術提供了在不同的傳輸速率及運算能力下串流影像的適應能力;關於這方面,有一種稱為可調性影像編碼(Scalable Video Coding;SVC)的技術標準已經公開發表且引起廣泛的注意。本研究的目的在探索如何運用P2P與SVC的技術來提供影像串流服務,開發一個包括影像分層、影片動態分享與排程以及影片下載與分享的系統架構。透過實際佈建的GaiaSharp,可以發現在此種架構下對於高畫質、資料量大的影音串流帶來的好處。

Many research on P2P Video Streaming focus on methodologies and algorithm of P2P protocol, such as Peer Selection, P2P Network Structure, and Group Construction. However, streaming mechanism and system deployment are not negligible. On the other hand, the layered video codec provides flexibility between different transmission rate and computing power of members of service. Scalable Video Coding, SVC, has been standardized and caught much attention. This article aims at how to make use of P2P and SVC to provide a video streaming service which involves video layering, dynamic segment seeding and scheduling. To provide live or on-demand P2P Video Streaming service, GaiaSharp is implemented and deployed; our experience found some benefit under this architecture.
