摘要


在光纖已漸漸深入用戶家中及寬頻應用日益成熟的環境下,第一代被動光網路的1Gb/s速率可能馬上會面臨速度不夠的問題。在此同時,光通訊可以考慮放棄傳統的OOK-NRZ而使用高效率的OFDM調變來提昇傳輸速度。我們在本文中會介紹最新式的光通訊調變方式及它的優勢,並且展示OFDM在光接取網路的研究現況與未來的展望。

As the first-generation passive optical networks get accepted as the major access network options and more bandwidth demanding broadband applications emerges, the current 1Gb/s network will face the speed limit soon. In the same time, high efficiency OFDM modulation format is considered to replace the traditional OOK-NRZ to increase the speed in optical communications. In this paper, we will introduce the OFDM modulation format and its advantages in optical communications. Besides, using OFDM in PON network is discussed on its current status and future perspective.
