高速移動環境WiMAX網路上之串流服務傳輸技術

摘要


高速鐵路(THSR)的商業服務在臺灣運行已有一段時間,為了能提供良好的服務品質,高速移動環境下的網路存取一直是亟欲被克服的問題。使用行動WiMAX網路(IEEE 802.16e)提供的涵蓋範圍以及頻寬使用率,不只能為列車提供網路的服務,更可以傳送像是即時行動電視串流這類型的即時娛樂影音內容給乘客。因此,在高鐵沿線正計畫部署一條專屬的行動WiMAX網路為列車提供網路服務。在本文中,針對高速鐵路快速移動環境下,使用AL-FEC(Application Layer FEC)的技術用於行動電視串流服務。我們提出設計架構、實作流程以及實驗結果。假設IEEE 802.16e底層的可靠性控制機制無法提供無錯的行動串流傳送,在實驗中得知若使用AL-FEC可在高速移動環境中有效率地補償封包掉落。

The commercial service of Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) has been launched for a period of time in Taiwan. In order to improve the service quality, mobile network access is a critical problem to be overcome for high-speed mobile environments. Because of the advantages of coverage and bandwidth usage, a mobile WiMAX network (IEEE 802.16e) is not only for providing Internet access over the THSR, but also for delivering live entertainment contents to the passengers, such as mobile TV streaming of live programs. Therefore, a dedicated mobile WiMAX network is planned to be deployed along the railway of THSR that provides network services for the train. In this article, we show the design architecture, implementation and experiments about mobile TV streaming service using AL-FEC (Application Layer FEC) for high-speed rail reception. If the underlying reliability scheme in IEEE 802.16e can not provide error-free mobile streaming delivery, we can find that AL-FEC can efficiently compensate the packet losses in the high-speed reception scenario from these experiments.
