摘要

本文提出了一個將資料濃縮並且在網路以串流傳送的方法與系統，可將多個內容的串流，動態地依照內容事件或是使用者的興趣將內容資料濃縮並混合於單一會話（single session）中傳送； 在傳送的過程中會依據接收端裝置能力與網路狀況，改變濃縮的程度與比例以符合各接收端不同需求。用戶端播放器接收到濃縮串流後會依照其能力能有不同的呈現方式與串流內容調整的手段。本論文的優點如下：（1）縮短使用者同時收看多個串流內容的等待時間；（2）伺服器自動且動態地依據接收端裝置能力與網路狀況調整濃縮串流的內容，改善使用者收視觀感；（3）使用者以較少的頻寬就可以同時收看多個內容，並依據接收到的濃縮串流，提供適當的呈現方式。結合上述的優點，本論文應用於網路串流應用可提供更佳的收視效果。

A system and method for providing and transmitting condensed streaming content is proposed, which condenses multiple-source streaming content into one stream for transmission in one single session according to the user's interests or the contents in the streaming. Based on the estimated network congestion result between sender and the receiver, the content composition and condensation degree may be altered dynamically to adapt to the bandwidth quality. Different methods in the receiver to present the condensed stream are also proposed. The advantages of the invention includes 1) shorten the waiting time of repeatedly connecting and disconnecting among multiple streaming contents to discover dynamically added streaming content; 2) solve the bandwidth competition issue when trying to connect multiple streaming contents simultaneously with poor network bandwidth; 3) improve the perceptual experience by meeting the capabilities of the user's device and providing a content aware and bandwidth adaptive condensed stream.
