目前雷射在醫學、製造、電子產品、娛樂、量測、科學儀器、光通訊及軍事等領域的應用已愈來愈廣泛，其中材料加工、光儲存、通訊、醫療大約占整個雷射用途的9成。從未來微電子產業的發展趨勢來看雷射的應用，3C電子產品的發展將朝向輕薄短小且多功能的整合，雷射加工技術將扮演非常重要的角色，所以本文將分析2007年整體雷射產業的產銷情形，並分析材料加工用、通訊、醫療等，這三項領域的雷射產值概況，以提供欲進入此產業發展之廠商作參考。
